Melania Trump Made Over $17 Million From Documentary, Book Sales, NFTs


President Donald Trump’s certified annual financial disclosure report, released Tuesday, showed that First Lady Melania Trump earned more than $17.2 million in 2025 from her documentary, book sales and non-fungible tokens, or non-fungible tokens.

The first lady’s biggest payday, according to the filing, was licensing fees for her documentary “Melania,” which chronicled her activities during the 20 days leading up to Trump’s inauguration in 2025.

Amazon Studios paid MGM $40 million to acquire the documentary and $35 million to market it, leading some Democratic lawmakers to raise concerns that the project was a “pay-to-play arrangement” by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos to “gain political influence or preferential treatment” with the Trump administration. “We licensed the film for one reason and one reason only — because we think customers will love it,” Amazon said in a statement.

“Melania,” which debuted in theaters in January 2026, has grossed $16.6 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

In her financial disclosure report, Melania Trump stated that she earned $10.71 million from the documentary.
